Meet the Executive Board

President
Marissa Bordone
Hi! I'm Marissa, your STEP President! I'm a Senior majoring in Natural Sciences and minoring in Anthropology with a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. I've been involved with STEP since my freshman year, and it has been the best part of my college experience! This will be my third year on Eboard, after serving as VP of Raisers last year and as Secretary my sophomore year. Throughout my time in STEP, I've had the privilege of being a sitter and raising two puppies with the club, Philomena II and Hoffman III! I am so inspired by Canine Companions' mission and passionate about educating others on campus about our future service dogs and the impact they make. I am so grateful for the people, pups, and experiences the STEP community has given me, and I'm excited to continue the club's success with the rest of Eboard this year!

Vice President of Raisers
Kailey Vento
Hi! I'm Kailey, and I'm the Vice President of Raisers for STEP@Pitt! I'm a senior majoring in Bioengineering with a concentration in Medical Product Engineering and a certificate in Engineering, Design, and Advanced Manufacturing. During my time in STEP, I've served as the club's Business Manager and Vice President of Sitters and am excited to step into a new role this year! I'm currently raising Newberry and can't wait to see the wonderful things he accomplishes. I have learned so much from him and my fellow raisers in the STEP community, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help new raisers navigate their journeys with their puppies. I hope I can help show interested members that raising a puppy is possible and so rewarding, even with a demanding academic career. I'm excited to continue sharing my love for our club and our amazing pups with the Pitt community!

Vice President of Sitters
Rebecca Uhl
Hi! I'm Becca, your STEP Vice President of Sitters! I'm a Biological Sciences major on the pre-vet track with a minor in Chemistry and a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. I've been involved with STEP since the fall of my freshman year and have loved being part of a community so dedicated to supporting service dogs and the people whose lives they change. I raised my first future service dog, Bianca, who is currently in professional training, and I am now raising my second FSD, Veela. Through raising, sitting, and working closely with so many pups and raisers, I've developed a passion for creating a supportive and welcoming environment within STEP. As VP of Sitters, I'm excited to help connect raisers with reliable sitters, support members throughout their raising journeys, and continue helping our club grow into a positive and encouraging community for both people and pups!
